Bundle of Joy...

We welcomed our little Bundle of Joy into this world on May 31st, 2011 at 2:43 pm.  Easton J Whittington is the love of our lives and well worth the wait.

I say "wait" because it wasn't easy getting our little guy to come out and meet us.  We went to the hospital on May 24th for an induction and were sent home after not making any progress.  I have to say. . .that is the most depressing feeling in the world.  To go to the hospital thinking you are going to come home with your baby, then to leave still PREGNANT!!  We tried again on May 31st.  I was put on pitocin at around 5:30 in the morning.  I was not dilating like I should, so my doctor came in and manually dilated me then broke my water (a VERY painful experience).  I finally dilated to a 4 and got stuck there.  Easton's heart rate was dropping, so we had to do an emergency C-Section.  It went very fast and we were scared to death and so nervous.  Justin was amazing during the whole thing...very encouraging strong through it all, and loving.

All my nerves and fears went away the moment I heard his little cry...the sweetest sound to my ears.  Everyone tells you how much you will love your child, but you don't know just how much until you have your very own.  We were overwhelmed with joy and love and couldn't stop crying.  I think we cried everyday for 2 weeks because of how much we love our little guy and just how blessed we are to have him here.  God is amazing and I see just how amazing each day I look at Easton.
